Who you are dealing with

Hampstead Tuition Centre, 78 Hampstead High St, London NW3 1RE. You can reach us at info@hampsteadtuition.com or 07496 034142. We are a small tuition centre, not a school or a registered childcare provider.

Tuition: what you get

• One session a week in a small group, covering Maths and English, during our published term dates.
• Sessions run Mondays and Tuesdays, 6pm to 8:15pm (after school).
• A free first assessment before you commit to anything.
• Our own workbooks, included once the annual workbook admission fee is paid.

We will teach with reasonable care and skill. What we cannot do is promise a particular grade or result: progress depends on your child's starting point, attendance and effort at home as much as on our teaching. Any tutor or centre promising a guaranteed grade is promising something they cannot control.

Fees and payment

• Tuition is £160 a month, paid monthly in advance by card through Stripe.
• A one-off workbook admission fee of £25 a year covers all the workbooks your child uses.
• All prices on this site include VAT where it applies. Delivery is shown separately in the basket before you pay.
• We will tell you at least one calendar month before any fee changes.

Cancelling your child's place

There is no contract and no notice period. Email or call us and we will stop the next payment. We do not refund part months once sessions in that month have started, but you keep your place for the rest of the month you have paid for.

If you enrol online, you also have a legal right to cancel within 14 days of enrolling and get a full refund, under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013. If you ask us to start sessions inside those 14 days, we may keep a fair amount for the sessions your child has already attended.

Buying workbooks from the shop

Our workbooks are printed and posted to you, by Royal Mail, usually within five working days. Delivery cost is shown in the basket before you pay.

Your 14-day right to change your mind. You may cancel any workbook order within 14 days of receiving it, for any reason, and return it for a full refund including standard outbound delivery. Tell us by email at info@hampsteadtuition.com, then send the workbooks back within 14 days of telling us. You pay the return postage. Please keep the workbooks in a saleable condition: we can reduce a refund to reflect handling beyond what you would do in a shop. We refund within 14 days of getting the workbooks back.

If anything arrives damaged, faulty or not what you ordered, tell us and we will replace it or refund it in full, including your postage. That is your right under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 and nothing above limits it.

The software licence

The Tuition Management System is a digital download licensed to one business. Because it is delivered immediately as a download, your 14-day cancellation right ends once the download starts and you have agreed to that. If it will not install or does not work as described, contact us and we will fix it or refund you.

Sessions we cannot run

If we have to close a session (illness, weather, anything outside our control) we will offer a catch-up session. If we cannot catch it up, we reduce your next month's fee by that session's share. We do not charge for sessions we did not run.

Behaviour and safety

Parents or carers are responsible for dropping off and collecting children on time. We ask children to treat each other and the room with respect. In the rare case where a child's behaviour repeatedly stops others learning, we will talk to you first, and only ask you to withdraw as a last resort, refunding any unused fees.

Please tell us about any medical need, allergy or additional need before your child starts, so we can look after them properly.

Our materials

We write our own workbooks and they remain our copyright. You are welcome to use them with your own child. Please do not copy, resell or distribute them.

If something goes wrong

Tell us first, at info@hampsteadtuition.com. We will reply within five working days and try to put it right. These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales.
