Common questions

The things parents usually want to know before they get in touch. If yours is not here, just ask.

Is this right for my child if they are behind?

Yes, that is most of who we see. The free assessment exists for exactly this: a teacher works out where your child actually is, gaps and all, and where to start. Small groups mean they get noticed and helped, not left at the back.

What will it cost me?

£160 a month covers 4 weekly sessions, which works out at £20 an hour for your child. There is no contract and you can cancel anytime. The only extra is a £25 a year fee that gives your child every one of our workbooks.

When and where are the sessions?

Mondays and Tuesdays, 6pm to 8:15pm (after school), at 78 Hampstead High St, London NW3 1RE. Each session is an hour of Maths and an hour of English with a short break, so your child covers both subjects in one trip.

Which year groups and exams do you cover?

KS1 right through to GCSE, plus 11+ preparation. For GCSE we cover the AQA, Edexcel, OCR specifications.

Why not just hire a private tutor?

A private tutor at this price is rare. Here your child learns in a small group led by an experienced teacher who has spent eight years inside these exams, working from materials we wrote against the real papers. Every workbook is included for £25 a year.

Do I have to enrol to buy the workbooks?

No. Anyone can buy the printed workbooks from the store and have them posted out. Enrolling at the centre is separate, and members get the whole workbook library included with their £25 a year fee.

How do I get a place, and what if you are full?

Most families start with a free assessment, then enrol online and set up a monthly payment. Places are limited because groups stay small, so each day can sell out. When a day is full the site shows it as full and you can ask to go on the waiting list. We will contact you the moment a space opens.

Can my child start partway through the year?

Yes. The assessment tells us the right level to start at, whatever the time of year. Places depend on space in each group, which is why we cap numbers.

What if we need to stop?

Monthly payments can be cancelled anytime, with no contract and no cancellation fee. If something is not working for your child, tell us and we will sort it out.

Do you offer help with the cost?

Yes. We keep a number of funded and subsidised places for families on Universal Credit or a low income. Spaces are limited, so ask and we will do what we can.

Still not sure?

The free assessment answers most of it. A teacher meets your child, works out where they are, and tells you honestly whether we can help.
