About Hampstead Tuition Centre
A Hampstead tuition centre where every week covers Maths and English, taught from workbooks we wrote ourselves, drawn from the exam specifications and years of teaching these exams. Small groups built to grow confidence, teamwork and clear thinking, with a free first assessment so you see exactly where your child stands. £20 an hour.
We are a tuition centre on Hampstead High Street. Children come to us in Maths and English, often a little behind or a little nervous, and leave knowing what they are doing. The groups are small on purpose, so no child sits at the back hoping not to be asked.
What makes us different

- The workbooks are ours. We wrote them from the exam specifications and past papers, so every page earns its place.

We also sell those workbooks to families who cannot get to Hampstead, and we sell the software we built to run the centre to anyone who wants to start one of their own. If that helps another good centre open down the road, all the better.
The people who run the centre
Hampstead Tuition Centre is owned and run by its two lead tutors, who teach here themselves.
Who teaches your child
Both of our lead tutors have taught since their teens, worked their way up from SATs to GCSE and A-level, and between them have well over a decade of classroom experience. One holds a Mathematics degree from a Russell Group university along with further qualifications in finance; the other studied at university, works in a school alongside the centre, and is completing QTS, the teaching qualification.
That is thousands of hours in front of a class. We know what a child looks like the moment a topic clicks, and what they look like five minutes before, when they are about to give up.
The same explanation does not land for every child, so we find the one that does. That is how we have helped students of every age, from the nervous ones to the bored ones, reach the grades they were after. We have worked with children who have learning difficulties too, and we have the patience for it.
Why we wrote these workbooks
Walk into most tuition and the children are working off loose sheets printed from maths websites. A page here, a page there. Nothing holding it together. We taught that way for years, and we watched what it did to the younger ones especially. Nobody had written them a proper workbook.
So we read the curriculums front to back, year by year, and wrote the workbooks we wish we'd had. The topics go in order. Difficulty climbs one step at a time, so a child is never thrown in too deep and never left guessing what comes next. They get a straight line from where they are now to the grade they are after.
So your child does not sit down to a worksheet pulled off the internet. They sit down to a workbook written against the real exam specifications, with the practice in the order it actually needs to come, and space to work properly.
Our sister centre and charity work
Hampstead is not the only place you will find us. We also run a second centre at 71 Kingsgate Road, London NW6 4JY, set up and funded by a local charity, the Learning and Development Centre. We have worked with them for five years, and their backing is what made that centre possible.
It runs on the same idea as Hampstead: small groups, experienced teaching, proper attention on each child. The charity helps us reach families who might not get this kind of support otherwise. If Kingsgate Road is the closer one for you, start there.
